I had the honor of making a 1st birthday cake for a friends little girl!!!! It was a fiesta theme and I was so excited!!!!! First, I made some rice krispie treats and molded them into different "fiesta-y" shapes (side note, don't do it while its hot in the pan first) I made a cactus, a chile pepper, and a set of maracas...

After, I covered them in fondant and decorated the cake! The bottom tier was a white cake with chocolate buttercream filling. The top tier was white cake with bavarian cream filling. All covered in marshmallow fondant.

Here's the smash cake for the birthday girl to destroy!

Cupcake fever!

What's better than beer and cake? COMBINING THEM! Corona cupcakes with lime cream cheese frosting! AMAZING! Made them for the 4th of July and had them the next day for a get together with friends.

Yesterday, I made a white cupcake and injected bavarian cream in the center after it was done cooking and topped it with homemade chocolate frosting! We had half the batch after dinner and my husband took the other half to work.

Kind of messy, and next time I'll add more cream
The finished product!

Chocolate + mint = HAPPINESS

OMG I'm SUCH a slacker!!!! ok.. updating the blog NOW, while watching teen mom and drinking a corona (light) annnd GO!!!!

Our good friends birthday was a few weeks ago and his one request was for me to bake for him (and be the DD for the night out) IM SUCH A GOOD FRIEND! ;) I made him Chocolate cupcakes with whipped cream frosting, then melted andes mints and drizzled them on top!! They were sooooo good!
On top I added a Nilla Wafer dipped in chocolate and drizzled with the same mint chocolate

I had extra batter so I made him a cake as well
And these are the Nilla wafers (and some Oreos because I had chocolate leftover and felt the need to cover anything edible in my cupboard)

It's a nice day for a RUSTIC DIY wedding

Soooooo my bestie from high school got MARRIED!! I was honored to be a bridesmaid and LOOOOVED helping with all the fun details! (ps she's SUPER crafty! follow her here
Anywhoooooo..... for her dessert table everyone brought a dish or something yummy. I know its not really "baking" but i had ALOT to do that week (definitely not as much as the MOH... holllaaaaa Claire!) So, I contributed chocolate and vanilla covered grahams. Still yummy and so fast to make!

~~Melt whatever flavor of almond bark (i use a ziplock for easy clean-up)  cut a corner off the end and drizzle away! ~~

I LOOOOOVE Birthdays!!!

Ok, so every birthday my kids have, I start brainstorming months ahead of time! Heres a few of my favorite ones ;)

My youngest sons 1st birthday was Nightmare Before Christmas theme:

**chocolate covered nutter butters for bones**
(and for some reason I didn't get a good picture of the chocolate covered Oreos to the left made to look like full moons)

TOY STORY BIRTHDAY!!!!!

AAAAAANNNNNNND.... my good friend asked me to recently make cake balls for her sons birthday (DUH! Why would I say no to good quality time with my kitchen??)
300 cake balls? sure! Wait, in between laundry, and cleaning, and cooking, and taking my kids out to play? No problem!!!!

**Vanilla with vanilla almond bark**

**yellow butter cake with
chocolate almond bark**
<---------------

** Chocolate cake with melted andes mint topping** ---->

Just Because.....

I have this crazy idea that baking relieves stress.... So every now and then, I just start making huge mess in my kitchen (maybe its my OCD and my need to clean so I make a big mess) ?? Either way, my neighbors and family LOVE it!

Reese peanut butter cupcakes!

Chocolate cake/whipped cream cheese/fresh strawberry

Happy Valentines! <3

Who doesn't like rocky road?? AND in cupcake form??? Chocolate cupcake, marshmallow frosting, and chocolate chips with almond flakes! Possibly my favorite so far.

Going to be honest here, no idea why/when I made these... but i remember HATING those sprinkles! I found them everywhere for days!!!!!!!

Mickey mouse snickerdoodles! My kids definitely go a kick out of these ;)

And last but not least (my favorite when in cake ball form) yellow butter cake with chocolate frosting

40 years of marriage!

Congrats to my in laws! 40 years of marriage and I got to surprise them with my very first cake with home made marshmallow fondant!!! (insert annoying squeal here) I was super nervous and almost backed out at the last minute BUT I'm so happy I didn't!!!! It was filled with almond whipped cream and fresh fruit...

Normally when I'm baking I have my sister around. First, she keeps my kids in line and out of the kitchen.... second, she provides some pretty funny entertainment and without her I wouldn't have these precious moments forever saved on camera to share with all of you. :)

AND..... (as my 2yr old says) TAAA-DAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!
My very first fancy-pants cake!!

Add in extra cupcakes (chocolate with whipped cream frosting and vanilla cake with strawberry cream cheese frosting)
